Membership Procedures

There are four ways of becoming a first line signer.

  1. New petition. - (New Candidate)

  2. Associate Member. - (Hold membership in more than one Shrine)

  3. Affiliation. - (transfer from another Shrine)

  4. Restoration. - (Renewing one who has let his Aladdin membership lapse for non-payment of dues)

New petition

The petition given to a new candidate. The first line signer gets credit plus any club or Unit listed or shown on the petition, but not both.

Associate Member

For the man who wants to retain membership in his present Shrine Center but would like to be included on the mailing list of Aladdin Shriners. He would hold a membership card in both Shrine Centers. Use the form "Petition For Associate Membership" First line signer gets credit, but no Club or Unit credit is given.

Affiliation

For the man who would like to transfer from his present Shrine Center and become a permanent member of Aladdin. There is no fee to be collected if he has a current paid dues card. Use the "Petition for Affiliation" and the "Application for Demit." Have both copies returned and remit to Aladdin. The Recorder will send the form to the Applicant's Shrine Center for confirmation. First line signer gets credit, but  no Club or Unit credit is given.

Restoration

For those who have let their Aladdin membership lapse for non-payment of dues. Have the applicant complete a "Petition for Restoration" and remit to Aladdin with the appropriate re-instatement fees.

Shriners should always have a copy of the petition handy, to improve your ability to help in the membership effort.

* Creation fees include a Fez fee of $63.00. The candidate does not pay this fee, if he already possesses a fez.

**These fees include a candidates 2009 dues.

***NOTE: Oct thru Dec will be effective January 1st of following year.

***PLEASE CALL THE OFFICE TO MAKE SURE A RESTORATION IS NEEDED!!

If a member has a demit that was issued in the current dues year by our Shrine Center or any other Shrine Center there is NO FEE for this "affiliation". If you have had a demit for more than a year then you must Re-Affiliate and pay current years dues.
